Job summary

SSA Group is seeking an Assistant Catering Operations Manager for the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium onsite team. You will lead catering logistics, coordinate event plans, and ensure seamless execution across Sales, Culinary, and Operations to deliver memorable guest experiences.

Ideal candidates bring strong interpersonal skills, leadership, and financial acumen for event budgets. This role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and outdoor venues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed plans for catering events, including event orders and timelines.
• Coordinate with sales to capture and execute event requirements.
• Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown of events.
• Ensure equipment, supplies, and materials are available and functional.
• Walk event spaces with sales to verify readiness and address issues.
• Collaborate with Sales, Culinary and other departments to ensure flawless events.
• Attend weekly meetings to review upcoming events and updates.
