Job summary

Bi-Rite Family of Businesses in San Francisco seeks a Packer to create an inspiring culinary guest experience. You will help run catering and commissary kitchen operations, ensuring quality, packing standards, and safe handling of perishable items.

The role requires prep experience, ServSafe and California Food Handler certifications within 30 days, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Competitive benefits supplied.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience working prep in a commercial kitchen recommended.
• ServSafe Certification and California Food Handler card required within 30 days post-hire.
• Continuous standing and carrying 11-50+ pounds.
• Ability to work nights and weekends when needed.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and packages all seasonal and house-made products for guests at markets and catering events.
• Ensures Bi-Rite packaging standards and food safety standards are met.
• Works with the Sous Chef and supervisors to execute daily kitchen priorities.
• Regularly tastes products to ensure quality, flavor and freshness.
• Ensures all products received/delivered match quality, size, pack and pricing specs.
• Rotates inventory with accurate labeling and safe handling of perishables.
• Handles damaged, out-of-date, spoils, and returned products to standards.
• Follows all food safety and sanitation practices.
