Job summary

Bi-Rite Catering + Commissary Kitchen in San Francisco is hiring a Dishwasher. The role supports catering and commissary operations, ensuring clean dishes, proper labeling, and safe handling of all products. Qualifications

• ServSafe Certification required or obtained within 30 days post-hire.
• California Food Handler Card required within 30 days post-hire.
• Continuous standing and carrying between 11-50+ pounds.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and put away all dishes, kitchen utensils, and equipment.
• Assist with kitchen prep following Bi-Rite standards and recipes.
• Receive, organize, and stock inventory in refrigerated cases and backstock areas.
• Keep work areas neat, labeled, and well-stocked; rotate perishable items safely.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation practices.

OPPORTUNITY

We have an immediate opening for a Dishwasher. The Dishwasher is responsible for creating an inspiring culinary experience for our guests. They give outstanding service by meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations and providing excellent internal service to the team. Their responsibilities include assisting in the smooth and seamless operations of all aspects of the catering and commissary kitchen, reaching company goals, upholding product quality and consistency standards, mitigating waste, maintaining equipment and facilities, and safely handling all of our products and equipment. They are part of a cohesive Bi-Rite team that supports the Bi-Rite Missions, Vision, and Community Values.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for washing, sanitizing, and putting away all dishes, kitchen utensils, and equipment.
• Assists with the preparation of kitchen menu offerings as needed, following recipes, cut specification, and packaging to Bi-Rite standards.
• Receives, organizes, and stocks all inventory in the refrigerated cases, backstock, and receiving areas.
• Keeps all working areas neat, clean, accurately labeled, and well-stocked.
• Puts away inventory, paying close attention to proper rotation, accurate labeling, while handling perishable items safely.
• Follows all food safety and sanitation practices.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen or food service recommended.
• ServSafe Certification, California Food Handler card is required within 30 days post-hire. Bi-Rite provides on-site training and certification.

• Ability to work nights and weekends when needed.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
