Bi-Rite Market is hiring a Catering Service + Operations Associate to create inspiring catering experiences for guests. You will provide outstanding hospitality, handle orders, quotes, and promotions, and work with kitchen and delivery teams to meet goals.

The role requires flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a starting wage of $21.50/hour. Bi-Rite offers a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• 1+ year experience in sales, customer service or hospitality.
• Familiarity with MS Outlook, Word and Excel; ability to learn new technologies.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• California Food Handler card required within 30 days post-hire (Bi-Rite provides training).

Responsibilities

• Provide sales and customer service for guest catering orders via phone, email, and web.
• Ensure orders are prepared, packed and delivered per guest specs, including packaging and invoicing.
• Coordinate packing and delivery through Bi-Rite drivers or courier service.
• Create food and catering quotes, menu ideas, and promote sales.
• Process invoices and payments per contract terms; ensure timely payments.
• Support catering operations with Kitchen and Catering teams; assist warehouse and delivery as needed.

OPPORTUNITY

The Catering Service + Operations Associate is responsible for creating an inspiring catering experience for our guests. They give outstanding hospitality by meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations and providing excellent internal hospitality to the team. Their responsibilities include assisting in the smooth and seamless operations of all aspects of the catering business, reaching financial goals, upholding product quality and consistency standards, mitigating waste, maintaining equipment and facilities, and safely handling all of our products and equipment. They are part of a cohesive Bi-Rite team that supports the Bi-Rite Missions, Vision, and Community Values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide sales and customer service for guest’s catering orders through phone, email, and web.
• Ensure orders are prepared, packed and delivered according to guest’s specifications, including quality and quantity of products, presentation and packaging, signage, delivery, issue resolution, invoices and payment.
• Coordinates packing and delivery of catering orders through Bi-Rite approved drivers or courier service.
• Provides a great guest hospitality with knowledge of current catering offerings through creating food and catering quotes, menu creations, along with promotion of sales.
• Ensures invoices and payments are handled according to Bi-Rite’s contracts and terms and processes payments in a timely manner.
• Assists in the successful running of the catering operations, working directly with the Kitchen and Catering teams to execute department priorities. Incudes supporting the warehouse and delivery team as needed.
