Job summary

SSA Group in Dallas is seeking a Catering & Event Operations Manager to lead logistics for large-scale events at the Dallas Zoo. You will coordinate with Sales, Culinary, and operations to plan, execute, and review every detail from setup to breakdown, ensuring exceptional attendee experiences.

The role requires strong leadership, client relationship skills, and the ability to manage budgets, inventory, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years catering operations and/or event planning management in off-site catering, hotel or cultural attraction catering venue preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience is required; candidates with 6+ years receive stronger consideration.
• Working knowledge of Tripleseat is a plus.
• All education backgrounds eligible, must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed plans for catering events, including event orders, pull sheets, execution timelines, staffing schedules, visual appeal and logistics layouts.
• Coordinate with sales reps to understand event requirements and ensure all details are captured and executed.
• Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown of events for smooth, efficient operation.
• Ensure all equipment, supplies, and materials are available and in good condition.
• Walk event spaces with Sales Team prior to events to address issues promptly.
• Collaborate with Sales Team, Culinary Team and others to ensure flawless events.
• Create eye-catching and innovative F&B displays with the Culinary Team.
• Oversee catering product quality, inventory, and maintenance of equipment.
