SSA Group in Houston is seeking a Catering & Event Operations Manager to lead logistics, coordination, and execution for onsite events at the Houston Zoo. You will drive client relationships, ensure seamless service, and oversee cross-functional teams to deliver memorable experiences.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and operational excellence, with flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Opportunities exist to enhance event programs and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Basic office software skills.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs and work outdoors when needed.
• Outdoor venues experience is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement detailed catering event plans, including timelines and staffing.
• Coordinate with sales to capture event requirements accurately.
• Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown for smooth operations.
• Ensure equipment, supplies, and materials are ready and functional.
• Walk venues with Sales Team before events and address issues promptly.
• Collaborate with Sales, Culinary, and other departments to ensure flawless events.
• Create engaging F&B displays with Culinary Team.
• Manage catering product quality, levels, and inventory.
• Maintain equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure repeat business.
• Lead vendor communications, pricing negotiations, and resource lists.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and policy adherence.
• Monitor budgets, costs, and revenue opportunities; manage invoices with AP.
• Provide post-event feedback and continuous improvement inputs.
