Job summary

HUNGRY is hiring an Operations Manager to own day-to-day catering, delivery, and event operations in the Boston market. You will coordinate Captains, manage onsite staff, and oversee hub readiness, inventory, and safety compliance.

The role requires 2–3+ years in operations with proven leadership, contractor relations, and event logistics experience. This position is on-site with Travel within the market and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years in an operations role, preferably catering, food service, hospitality, or logistics.
• Experience directly managing and developing employees with hiring and coaching.
• Experience planning contractor-based or gig workforce and contractor relations.
• Hands-on event execution and logistics management.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to lift and transport catering equipment as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams.
• Experience with administrative operations like time/attendance, expenses, purchasing/receiving.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day execution of catering, delivery, and event operations in the market.
• Coordinate local network of Captains and assign gigs with clear expectations.
• Recruit, onboard, and train Captains; connect with service and safety training.
• Partner with Sales and Food Partner Management to ensure smooth handoffs.
• Oversee hub readiness, stock, uniforms, check-in/dispatch, and cleanliness.
• Develop logistics plans, scheduling coverage, and inventory for daily work and events.
• Manage vendor and logistics relationships supporting hub and delivery operations.
• Monitor service quality in real time and flag operational risks early.
• Report market-level metrics to the National Director of Operations.
• Maintain compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards.
