Job summary

Columbia Hospitality is seeking an experienced Catering & Events Assistant Manager to support the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. The role leads catering staff, coordinates event setup, and ensures high-quality guest service in line with event orders.

You will work closely with Culinary, Sales, and other departments to execute successful functions, manage staff, and uphold health and safety standards, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisory or lead responsibilities in a hotel banquet or catering environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and communication skills; proficient with POS and office tools.

Responsibilities

• Schedules catering service staff to meet event demands.
• Supervises catering staff and ensures professional standards.
• Oversees event setup, service, staffing, and breakdown.
• Communicates with culinary teams to ensure event orders are executed.
• Maintains inventory of catering supplies and equipment.
• Trains and provides performance feedback to staff.
