Columbia Hospitality is seeking a Catering/Events Lead at Useless Bay Golf & Country Club in Langley, WA. This role focuses on planning and executing high-quality events, coordinating staff, and ensuring superb member experiences.

You will work with the Events Coordinator and Food & Beverage Manager to staff events, set standards, and manage room setups while upholding service excellence and brand guidelines.

Qualifications

• Two years in high-volume catering or events.
• Current state food handling and liquor licenses.
• Excellent customer service and relationship skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Basic computer literacy with POS and catering apps.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Events Coordinator to plan events in advance.
• Hire, train, and develop events-capable team members and schedule them as needed.
• Establish standards for event sets, food and beverage quality, presentation, sanitation and safety.
• Set the room according to banquet event orders and insights to optimize service and guest flow.
• Oversee decorating the room, buffet, and tables to match event theme and brand.
• Coordinate timing of each course to match dining pace.
• Communicate with culinary, service, and stewarding teams during service.
• Represent the club as liaison between members, guests, and staff during events.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve guest issues during or after events.
• Back-up service and bartending as needed.
