GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Catering Coordinator oversees and manages the backline business, focusing on building relationships with local businesses, existing customers, and BIG FISH to drive sales. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and coordinating daily catering and backline orders, canvassing the neighborhood for new business, and leading sales efforts to increase revenue.

Responsibilities

People

• Collaborate with the General Manager to set sales goals with the Catering Sales Team
• Supervise backline operations ensuring compliance and order accuracy
• Mentor and train associates on backline operations and sales techniques
• Coordinate delivery drivers and assist during peak periods

Customers

• Send thank you notes and perform callback calls on catering orders
• Handle customer complaints and accolades professionally
• Display and stock catering collateral; own the delivery trade area

Sales

• Achieve sales targets and communicate results regularly
• Engage in canvassing and account maintenance to boost sales
• Respond promptly to catering inquiries and monitor sales trends

Profit

• Actively pursue sales opportunities and verify order accuracy
• Encourage suggestive selling and monitor order quality

Accountability

• Demonstrate key leadership traits including communication, initiative, humility, and work ethic

Other Responsibilities

• Perform additional duties as outlined in the Potbelly Associate job description, including food prep, cleaning, customer service, and policy adherence

Essential Physical Functions

• Stand/walk for at least 4 hours
• Lift up to 10 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally
• Perform various physical activities including reaching, bending, and carrying
• Work in varied environments and tolerate allergens

Experience, Education & Behaviors

• High School diploma required
• Strong sales, multitasking, and customer service skills
• Self-motivated, confident, and team-oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Maintain professional appearance and positive attitude
• Food safety certification within 30 days for Illinois employees
