Category Manager, Divisional Procurement (Remote)

The Fort Mill, South Carolina location seeks talent for the full-time, permanent role of Category Manager, Divisional Procurement (Remote).

Overview

This role involves developing strategies and executing plans in Construction Services spend and local CAPEX. The Manager will collaborate across eleven large paper mills to analyze needs, identify risks, and develop solutions at local, regional, and national levels. Responsibilities include managing supply base value, mitigating risk, reducing costs, and optimizing working capital, alongside supporting central procurement, supplier relationships, and stakeholder management. The category scope includes CAPEX, chemicals, packaging, MRO, and service relationships, with an expanded hybrid leadership role in the region.

Your Challenges

• Lead strategic sourcing, including supplier assessments, defining requirements, conducting sourcing events, and negotiations for categories up to $50M.
• Implement risk management strategies to ensure supply continuity.
• Manage commercial terms, resolve performance issues, and adapt to market and business changes with suppliers.
• Engage with corporate and local teams to develop and execute multi-year strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and drive change.
• Contribute to benchmarking, data analysis, and new tool implementation.
• Use Supplier Relationship Management to enhance service, quality, and innovation.
• Build long-term supplier relationships to add value.
• Support global sourcing projects and leadership tasks within the Paper & Packaging business.

Your Skills

• Proven experience in driving change and delivering results in complex categories.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new category knowledge using strategic sourcing methodologies.
• Strong research, analysis, and collaboration skills.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of sourcing experience managing similar scope.
• Minimum 5 years in industrial manufacturing; pulp & paper industry experience preferred.
• Experience with packaging, chemicals, and indirect categories preferred.
• Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint; SAP, ARIBA experience preferred.
• Business proficiency in English required; French proficiency preferred.
