Salary Range: $66,625.00-$106,427.00*

Position may be eligible for an annual bonus payment.

Position Summary
Exercises independent discretion or judgment in handling all types of catastrophe property claims. Assists assigned field office when not on catastrophe deployment in handling day-to-day property claims.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establishes contact with Policyholders regarding their loss, driving to the site of damage within the assigned territory or as required.
Sets and manages reserves within designated authority.
Identifies and assesses damages, determines liability, and the total value of claims.
Prepares estimates, obtains scope of work and repair costs from contractors or Policyholders.
Documents all activities properly and submits final reports for claim closure.
Decides on payments, issues checks, and negotiates claims with attorneys when necessary.
Supervises handling of property losses by independent adjusters when needed and advises claims adjusters.
Attends industry training to stay current on legal and regulatory developments.
Assists field offices when not on catastrophe duty, bringing claims to conclusion.
Maintains operational readiness of the attached Sprinter Van.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Five years claims handling experience, including two years of property claims, required. Knowledge of structural damage repair and valuation techniques required.
Preferred: Completion of AIC program, proficiency with estimating software (preferably Symbility), applicable state license, valid driver’s license, and good driving record. Must reside in the assigned territory unless approved otherwise. Position involves frequent travel and being a first responder on the Catastrophe Team.
