Ohio CAT, a division of Ohio Machinery Co., is seeking a motivated Sales Representative specializing in rental equipment sales for Caterpillar and allied equipment. You will identify opportunities, advise customers with expertise, and close deals that deliver value to both customer and company.

Key responsibilities include territory planning, building strong client relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and maintaining accurate records in Sales Link.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction equipment industry.
• Experience selling/renting construction equipment required.
• Experience with Caterpillar equipment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our team, specializing in rental equipment sales of Caterpillar construction equipment, as well as Allied products such as aerial/boom/scissor lifts, trench shoring equipment, generators, pumps, etc. This role requires a strategic, customer-focused approach to territory management, sales execution, and relationship building.

You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, advising customers with confidence and expertise, and negotiating transactions that deliver value to both the customer and the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rental sales of Caterpillar construction equipment and related allied equipment.
• Manage your territory effectively through strategic planning and execution.
• Build strong customer relationships by demonstrating product knowledge and business insight.
• Negotiate deals that align with both customer needs and company goals.
• Maintain accurate records in Sales Link, including leads, opportunities, and account activities.
• Prepare and deliver timely and accurate quotes, contracts, financial documents, and delivery records.
• Collaborate with factory representatives to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Apply professional sales techniques to overcome objections and highlight product features and benefits.

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction equipment industry is required
• A minimum of 3 years of experience selling/renting construction equipment is required.
• Experience with Caterpillar equipment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  The work environment ranges from quiet (office) to moderate to loud (shop and field).
