Job summary

Fabick Cat seeks a skilled heavy equipment technician to diagnose and repair CAT machinery for customers and our fleet. You will perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs, conduct preventive maintenance, and use diagnostic laptops and gauges to identify faults.

The role requires strong problem-solving, good communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while upholding safety standards. MSHA certification or eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
• Two to five years' experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment, Caterpillar preferred.
• Experience diagnosing equipment using laptop computers, gauges, and instruments.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, mining equipment, systems, engines and components.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose repair needs and perform repairs on customer or company machines as directed.
• Repair CAT equipment including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
• Detect faults using diagnostic laptops, gauges, and instruments.
• Disassemble and reassemble components per manufacturer specs using tools.
• Occasional welding; read work orders and order parts as needed.
• Load/unload equipment from vehicles.
• Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
• Any other duties as assigned.
