Carolina Cat is seeking a skilled Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair customer equipment in shop or field settings, while maintaining productivity and customer satisfaction.

The role requires independent work, strong knowledge of Caterpillar engines and equipment, and the use of CAT diagnostic tools. You will follow safety guidelines and complete documentation, contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Must have earned a High School Diploma, or a GED.
• Successful completion of the level three service technician development program.
• 6+ years in heavy equipment, engine, or electric power generation system mechanic repair.
• Have Knowledge of: Engine and equipment lines sold by the company.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the application, operation, and function of Caterpillar equipment and engines.
• Use and application of all Caterpillar diagnostic tools.
• Electrical and electronic system applications.

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule and required tools at start of shift.
• Work independently with minimal supervision when needed.
• Determine status using on-board computer and service docs.
• Verify readings and compare to specifications.
• Develop plan to fix issues and coordinate parts.
• Install, replace, or repair parts per specs.
• Test equipment and perform quality checks after repair.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
