Job summary

Fabick Cat is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician in Springfield, MO to diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, read manuals and schematics, use diagnostic tools, and ensure safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required; technical/trade school education or equivalent is also required.
• Two to five years' experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment, Caterpillar preferred.
• Experience diagnosing equipment using laptops, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, mining equipment, systems, engines and components.
• Knowledge of basic tools and basic welding skills.
• Journeyman status is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose construction equipment repair needs and perform repairs on customer or company machines.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair tasks.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
• Detect faults using diagnostic laptops, gauges, and instruments across electronics, hydraulics, powertrain, engines.
• Disassemble and reassemble machine components per manufacturer specs using tools.
• Read and interpret manuals and work orders; order parts as needed.
• Load or unload equipment from vehicles; comply with OSHA safety rules.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned.
