Arch Insurance Group Inc. is seeking a Claims Examiner, Casualty to actively manage commercial general liability claims for medium severity across the United States.

The role includes identifying coverage issues, retaining counsel when necessary, and coordinating with carriers, underwriters and defense counsel. You will review claims materials, analyze statutes and case law, and direct litigation strategies while maintaining timely reserves and clear management reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 3–5 years working experience with casualty claims; construction a plus.
• Proper and active adjuster licensing in all applicable states.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess coverage issues; draft letters; retain counsel as needed.
• Develop strategy for coverage issues aligned with matter strategy.
• Mitigate indemnity and expense exposures through timely actions.
• Communicate developments with carriers, underwriters, counsel and management.
• Investigate claims; review insureds materials and pleadings.
• Review jurisdiction statutes, rules and case law.
• Review litigation materials and depositions.
• Analyze risk transfer and indemnity issues; direct counsel.
• Prepare written/oral reports for senior management on reserves.
• Attend mediations, trials and other proceedings as needed.
• Negotiate resolutions; manage settlements and strategy.
• Maintain diary of claims and respond to inquiries promptly.
