Job summary

Target Optical in Myrtle Beach, part of EssilorLuxottica, seeks a Casual Part-Time Optometric Technician to deliver exceptional patient service and support the optometrist with pre-exam testing and lens care. You will maintain organized records and ensure a clean, appealing store environment.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of guest service experience, strong communication, and basic math skills; familiarity with POS systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of guest service experience.
• High School graduate or GED.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Excellent interpersonal skills (friendly, patient).
• Sales skills and knowledge of store merchandise.
• Familiarity with cash registers, computers and calculators.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests and provides prompt service.
• Explains services, paperwork, tests, and timelines to guests.
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully.
• Maintains patient records in an organized manner.
• Processes contact lens orders and invoices.
• Operates POS system and handles payments.
• Keeps store displays attractive and organized.
• Reports safety issues to management.
• Assists optometrist with pre-exam testing.
