Job summary

Reno Orthopedic Center in Reno, NV is seeking a Cast/DME Technician to join our orthopedic care team. You will apply and remove casts, splints, and durable medical equipment (DME) and support wound care, suture removal, and pin extractions.

This role emphasizes patient education, comfort, and proper equipment fitting in a fast-paced clinic. We value teamwork, initiative, and a commitment to high quality orthopedic care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Experience casting or splinting preferred or ER/EMT background.
• Ability to educate patients on DME use and care.

Responsibilities

• Apply and remove casts, splints, and Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
• Remove sutures and provide wound care as applicable.
• Prep patient for extraction of pins and assist with pin care.
• Educate patients on the use and care of DME and ensure POD is signed.
• Document care in the patient’s EMR and charges.
• Assist physician in sterile procedures and closed reductions.
• Set up and maintain casting and supply rooms.
• Room patients to maintain clinic flow.
