Job summary

Argosy Casino Hotel & Spa Riverside is seeking an energetic cook to join Gram & Dun’s kitchen. You will cook and prepare a variety of dishes, follow safety procedures, and maintain station readiness for service.

You should be able to stand for long periods, rotate stock, work with a fast-paced team, learn the POS system, and participate in training and company policies. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years of related experience.
• Must pass culinary knowledge test.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Provide stellar customer service to internal and external customers and vendors.
• Cook and prepare food products including cutting, trimming, chopping, slicing, carving, mixing, cooking, sautéing, grilling, frying, broiling, baking and steaming.
• Follow food handling procedures to ensure safe, quality products.
• Maintain freshness by rotating items and keeping at proper temperatures.
• Ensure supplies are stocked for the next shift.
• Prepare, display or serve food following chef’s standards.
• Prepare station for service and maintain safety with kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize all areas and remove debris.
• Attend departmental training and company meetings.
• Adhere to company policies, gaming laws, and POS use.
• Learn and operate the POS system and participate in routine reports.
