Job summary

Lowe's Companies, Inc. is seeking a front-end associate to provide SMART customer service, assist customers in finding and loading merchandise, and guide them through Lowe's programs. You will handle POS transactions, price checks, and ensure accurate loading and checkout readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• Less than 1 year experience with computer and common retail technology.
• 1 year retail cashier experience.
• Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law.
• Preferred: 1 year experience identifying and selling products and 1 year supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service in daily Lowe's policies and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listens and responds to customer and employee questions and walks them through projects.
• Communicates stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application and warranty information.
• Trains associates in duties and sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds.
• Provides proper monetary change to front-end associates for register activities.
• Removes security tags and bags merchandise for customers.
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and lines up supplies.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters customer orders, prints tickets, verifies receipts, signs off on loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and price matches.
• Records items used in the store on use lists and performs daily reconciliation.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates with alarms.
• Detects shoplifting and security risks and informs management.
• Maintains housekeeping standards and store cleanliness.
• Maintains a safe work environment and conducts daily safety reviews.
• Follows safety requirements for stock, equipment, and tools.
• Operates store equipment as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
