Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Cashier/Checker to greet customers, engage with shoppers, and assist at the check lane. You will process transactions quickly and accurately, operate the POS system, and handle a variety of payments and loyalty offers while following company policies.

Maintain safety, cleanliness, and customer service excellence in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of basic math and prior retail experience are helpful.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Experience providing customer service and assisting shoppers.
• Familiarity with POS transactions and store policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers while staying visible in the lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle tenders, including cash, checks, card, SNAP EBT and coupons.
• Follow company policies on cash handling, restricted items and loss prevention.
• Report pricing discrepancies and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Maintain food safety and a safe, clean environment for customers.
