Job summary

Ace Hardware in Texas is seeking a retail associate to join our team. You will provide excellent customer service, assist with sales, operate the cash register, and help with stocking and merchandising tasks.

The role requires reading and communicating in English, with training provided. This on-site position involves walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working with store policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to write simple correspondence, in English.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations in English.

Responsibilities

• Follow guidelines set forth by Associate Handbook at all times.
• Handle training and development of new sales associates as assigned by training supervisor.
• Relay communications for smooth department operation.
• Maintain high level of housekeeping at all times.
• Handle or assign carry-outs for customers as needed.
• Follow work schedule and address changes or concerns with management.
• Observe safety procedures at all times.
• Participate in store meetings.
• Assist with loading/unloading of trucks.
• Operate cash register and process transactions accurately.
• Advise customers on location of tools, hardware, and materials.
• Assist with returns and exchanges according to store policy.
