Job summary

Goodwill of Silicon Valley is seeking a Customer Service Specialist I to join our Santa Clara County store. As an entry-level role, you will learn store operations while delivering friendly customer service, handling cash, and supporting merchandising and daily tasks.

You will greet customers, operate the cash register, process transactions, and follow procedures to maintain a neat, safe shop floor. Strong arithmetic, teamwork, and basic English skills are important for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of arithmetic required.
• Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with others.
• Retail sales and/or cash handling experience strongly desired.
• Basic English reading/writing ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and professional customer service, greeting customers and responding to inquiries promptly.
• Cash register operation, sales/monetary transactions, opening/closing procedures.
• Assist with inventory, display, merchandising and price adjustments.
• Maintain a neat, clean and safe store environment including restrooms and common areas.
• Follow store policies and procedures and report non-compliance as needed.
