Job summary

Goodwill of Silicon Valley is seeking an entry-level Customer Service Specialist I to deliver friendly customer service, learn store operations, and support merchandising and cash handling. You will greet customers, respond to inquiries, and assist with inventory, pricing, and housekeeping to maintain a clean store environment.

This role emphasizes building foundational skills in customer interactions, store procedures, and participation in round-up and ambassador programs, with room to grow

Qualifications

• Basic arithmetic is required.
• Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with others.
• Retail experience or cash handling is preferred.
• English reading/writing skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, professional customer service, greet customers and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Operate cash register, handle sales/monetary transactions, follow opening/closing procedures.
• Maintain positive customer and employee relations; report problems to store manager.
• Assist with inventory, display, merchandising, and price adjustments.
• Assist with housekeeping to maintain a neat, clean store environment and safe workspace.
• Follow store policies and report non-compliance to supervision.
• Encourage customers to participate in round-up and Customer Ambassador Program.
• Retrieve priced products from back room and stock floor per standards.
• Complete color pulls and rotate sections as directed to support promotions.
• Invite customers to complete satisfaction and CAP surveys at the end of interactions.
