Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to provide outstanding customer service in our store. You will greet customers, assist with purchases, and ensure a smooth checkout experience using the POS system.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and report pricing discrepancies.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons; stay informed about ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all safety and food safety regulations; identify unsafe conditions and report them.
• Assist with equipment inspection and maintenance; help ensure a welcoming environment for customers.
