Kroger in United States is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment. You will greet customers, process transactions at the lane, and ensure accuracy while following store policies.

Maintain safety, assist with promotions, and help create a welcoming shopping experience for all customers. The role requires basic math and effective communication skills, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and courteous service.

Qualifications

Customer service experience is required.
Strong communication skills and a friendly disposition.
Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction) needed.

Responsibilities

Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, and other tender types per policy.
Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
Report pricing discrepancies and follow store procedures for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
Stay updated with ads and promotions; maintain food safety and store safety procedures.
Assist in maintaining a welcoming, helpful store environment and resolve customer questions.
