Key Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders like cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, and work honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
• Follow all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify management to reinforce safety programs.
• Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products across the store.
• Comply with all applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
