Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Essential Job Functions:

1. Be visible and actively greet, engage, and assist customers as a Cashier/Checker.
2. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
3. Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders according to company policy.
4. Adhere to company's cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
5. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
6. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
7. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
8. Stay current with ads and promotions.
9. Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
10. Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
11. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
12. Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
13. Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
14. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
15. Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
16. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
17. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
18. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
19. Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
