Key Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures as per company policy.
• Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Manage postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons following established policies.
• Stay current with current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Support safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
• Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict professionally and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
