Job Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately through the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages/overages and restricted sale items (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Perform equipment inspections and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, assisting with questions about products throughout the store.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and respectfully.
  • Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
  • Support customers with special needs, including minors and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
