Key Responsibilities:
  1. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  2. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  3. Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
  4. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  5. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  6. Handle postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to policies.
  7. Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  8. Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  9. Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  10. Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with questions about products throughout the store.
  11. Follow all relevant laws and company guidelines.
  12. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  13. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  14. Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
  15. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  16. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  17. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
