Job Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the checkout lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures in accordance with company policy.
• Follow company guidelines regarding cash shortages or overages and work honestly to control loss.
• Adhere to policies on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with present, upcoming, seasonal, and special promotions.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety protocols, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management of accidents or issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with product questions across the store.
• Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
