Rutgers University is seeking an Accounting Supervisor II, Cash for the Payment Center within Student Accounting, Billing and Cashier Services. The role manages daily payment operations, provides staff guidance, and ensures adherence to financial controls across Rutgers–New Brunswick and Rutgers Health.

Responsibilities include processing student payments, reconciling Cash Journals, resolving complex payment issues, and collaborating with Financial Aid and other units.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of accounting/finance experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of federal/state regulations governing Title IV student loan programs and consumer credit
• Knowledge of financial and student information systems and standard computer applications
• Strong quantitative, accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with customers and colleagues

Aufgaben

• Coordinates daily operations of the Payment Center and processes student payments and related activities
• Provides direction, training, and guidance to Payment Center staff
• Monitors activities for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with policies and controls
• Oversees and reviews student payment transactions including cash, scholarships, wire transfers, and ACH
• Analyzes student accounts and resolves payment issues and informs on payment options
• Reviews and approves University-wide Cash Receipts and Cash Journals with proper documentation
• Escalates complex payment inquiries to appropriate units and handles cross-functional issues
• Coordinates with Financial Aid, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Treasury, OIT and others to resolve complex issues
• Contributes to performance metrics and training materials for Cash Journal operations
• Provides backup coverage across Payment Center and related ABC operations
