Job summary

Emergicon LLC in Terrell, TX is seeking a Cash Applications Specialist to ensure payments from clients are posted accurately and timely. You will review remittance advice, resolve discrepancies, and work with payers to correct issues.

The role supports month-end processes and requires attention to detail and solid Excel skills. On-site with potential for hybrid/remote after 90 days; salary is $20 per hour plus benefits, with a focus on accuracy and timely postings in a fast-paced EMS billing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of medical payment posting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and good organization.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once.
• Clear, professional communication, both written and verbal, including on the phone.
• Skill with Microsoft Office, including Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering).
• Comfort with accounting or financial software and electronic payment systems.

Responsibilities

• Post manual and electronic payments to patient accounts.
• Review insurance remittance advice for accuracy.
• Spot overpayments, billing errors, and posting errors, then resolve or flag.
• Research unidentified payments and recoupments to find the right resolution.
• Flag trends or problems with specific payers.
• Work with the accounts receivable team to resolve remittance issues.
• Reconcile to the general ledger and support month-end close.
• Meet all daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.

How you'll work

This role is based in our Terrell, TX office. You'll get hands-on training when you start.

Depending on performance, there will be an option to move to hybrid or remote after 90days.

You'll report to the Cash Applications Manager and work closely with the accounts receivableteam and insurance companies.

Most of the jobis done at a computer, with frequent typing and data entry while sitting orstanding at a desk.
