Job summary

Knight Transportation is seeking an organized Payments Administrator to support the Revenue Services department in Phoenix, AZ. You will apply customer payments with precision, post to Accounts Receivable, and participate in cash application processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The role requires 1+ year in customer service or office support, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to resolve data discrepancies.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in customer service or office support.
• Experience in transportation industry preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Must be able to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
• Must possess effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Revenue Services department by applying customer payments per their intent in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare and record customer payments using matching software to prepare customer payments via company check for posting to Accounts Receivable (A/R) ledger.
• Perform quality assurance procedures to resolve matching discrepancies including follow-up with all flagged transactions pinpointed by matching software.
• Perform research and analysis to resolve cash application issues.
• Utilize File Transfer Protocol (FTP) to configure file formats for data uploads into system of entry.
• Review file imports to ensure compliance with audit controls and customer intent/requirements.
• Assist in processing customer prepayments while following company procedures and perform on-demand deposits via 3rd party software.
• Identify appropriate General Ledger (G/L) accounts to properly record transactions for financial reporting.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to facilitate efficient and effective cash applications.
• Utilize imaging technology to administer document retention.
• Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
