Job summary

Western States Fire Protection is seeking a Cash Application Specialist to perform daily accounts receivable tasks in person at our Centennial, Colorado location. You will record and apply cash receipts, reconcile payments, and support branch teams with inquiries, ensuring timely processing of up to 500 receipts daily.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in cash applications, solid basic accounting knowledge, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in Cash Applications.
• Understanding of basic accounting and accounts receivable principles.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Willingness to pass a post-offer drug screen, background check, and reference check.

Responsibilities

• Record and apply cash receipts daily in the Accounting System related to lockbox payments and EFTs, handling up to 500 cash receipts a day.
• Process and apply physical checks and credit card payments.
• Research transactions related to credit card processing, EFTs, and lockbox transactions as needed.
• Perform daily reconciliation of all payment applications.
• Be comfortable learning and working in multiple accounting systems.
• Maintain accuracy and timeliness of problem solving and frequent communication with branches.
• Deliver high‑quality customer service to branch teams and external customers.
• Assist branches with payment inquiries and discrepancies.
• Other A/R duties as assigned.

Cash Application Specialist

The Cash Application Specialist will perform a variety of account receivable tasks under the supervision of the AR Manager & Controller. This is an in‑person role.

Hourly range: $17.00–$25.00 per hour.
