Job summary

The Intersect Group is seeking an Accounts Receivable / Cash Applications Specialist to join our growing accounting team in Alpharetta, GA. This role focuses on high-volume transactions, researching discrepancies, and ensuring customer payments are posted accurately and timely.

You will process and apply payments (ACH, wires, checks, cards, lockbox), perform cash applications, assist with month-end close and AR reporting, and collaborate with Collections, Billing, Accounting, and Customer

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, Cash Posting, Billing, or Collections
• Experience in high-volume transaction environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar systems is a plus
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Process and apply customer payments including ACH, wire transfers, checks, credit cards, and lockbox payments
• Perform high-volume cash application and accurately post payments to customer accounts and invoices
• Research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, deductions, and payment discrepancies
• Review customer accounts and assist with account reconciliations
• Identify and resolve payment posting issues and discrepancies
• Partner with Collections, Billing, Accounting, and Customer Service teams to resolve outstanding balances
• Maintain accurate AR records and supporting documentation
• Assist with month-end close and AR reporting as needed
• Research customer remittance information and ensure payments are appropriately allocated
• Assist with process improvements and other AR-related projects

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, working with high-volume transactions, researching discrepancies, and ensuring customer payments are posted accurately and timely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and apply customer payments including ACH, wire transfers, checks, credit cards, and lockbox payments
• Perform high-volume cash application and accurately post payments to customer accounts and invoices
