This role serves as a stepping stone toward a Case Manager position, with compensation of $20/hour and growth opportunities while you learn the practice of consumer rights law. Shadow Case Managers, assist with medical records, prepare demands for carriers, and help build settlements under attorney supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of Administrative Assistant/Support role experience preferred in a law firm or corporate legal dept.
• Highly organized with multitasking ability and strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good presentation abilities.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate with many employees in the organization.
• Extensive experience with computer programs, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite; typing at least 35 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Shadow Case Managers and learn on rotation.
• Order medical records from providers.
• Prepare comprehensive demands and support submissions to carriers under attorney supervision.
• Investigate the nature and facts of cases.
• Negotiate deductions of outstanding medical balances with providers.
• Prepare documents and correspondence to reach settlements.
