Job description

This Role Is Not For Everyone. It Might Be For You.

For over 25 years, Mavagi Enterprises has created meaningful employment for veterans and people with disabilities through federal contracts under the AbilityOne/JWOD Program. We are a mission‑driven, people‑first organization, and we are looking for a Case Management Specialist who moves with urgency, documents with precision, and genuinely cares about the humans whose files sit on their desk.

You notice when a case file is drifting, and you close the loop before anyone has to ask. You can sit across from an employee having a hard day and make them feel seen, not processed. You know your way around JWOD/AbilityOne requirements, and you don’t flinch when an audit shows up. And when a beneficiary needs more than case management, you know how to refer them somewhere that can actually help.

If that sounds like you, keep reading.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or a comparable combination of formal education and work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with persons with disabilities, preferably with organizations providing employment services
  • Working knowledge of employment law, including ADA, EEO, FMLA, workers’ compensation, wage and hour, labor law, and JWOD/AbilityOne guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, you can write a formal assessment and have a real conversation with an employee who is struggling
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing momentum
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet all contract screening requirements
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the role for extended periods with or without assistance, including viewing a computer screen, using a keyboard, and answering phones

Preferred

  • Experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, or working with persons from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in a government contracting or regulated environment
  • Familiarity with the AbilityOne program, SourceAmerica, or other disability employment frameworks
  • Ability to make clear, confident presentations to staff and external partners

What We Value Over a Resume: If you don’t check every box, but you have a track record of doing careful work with vulnerable populations, communicating without being asked, and finishing what you start, we still want to hear from you. Experience working alongside or in service of people with disabilities carries real weight here, regardless of how you came by it.

Every case you manage here directly supports employment for people with disabilities. That is not a tagline. It is in our contracts and our culture.

Responsibilities

Case File Management and Compliance

  • Create and manage case files and disability documentation in accordance with JWOD/AbilityOne, federal, state, and county regulations
