U.S. Xpress, Inc. is seeking a carrier relations specialist in the Chicago area to facilitate loads by contracting and coordinating an outsourced network of transportation providers.

You will track freight to meet customer requirements, negotiate rates, and maintain strong service levels while collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues for carriers and customers. A high school diploma is required, with a bachelor’s preferred, and experience in logistics or related fields is beneficial.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience in Sales, Transportation, Finance, or Hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience thriving in a fast paced, deadline driven work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage carrier relationships to negotiate rates and secure load coverage.
• Grow and manage a network of carriers via lead generation, cold calling, and referrals.
• Develop and maintain quality relationships with carriers, drivers, and stakeholders through proactive communication.
• Monitor carrier performance to maintain high level service.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues for carriers and customers.
• Gather and communicate market information about supply and demand to understand market conditions.
