Primoris Energy Services in Sherman, TX seeks a skilled Carpenter to construct, erect, install and repair wooden structures on industrial and commercial projects. You will read blueprints, select materials, and work with hand tools to build frameworks, doors, windows, and floors.

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent, 3–5 years' experience, ability to lift heavy objects, read drawings, and follow safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Carpenter in industrial or commercial construction.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools common to the carpentry trade.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to the type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.
• Select specified type of lumber or other materials and prepare for fabrication.
• Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, and other materials with hand and power tools.
• Build or repair frameworks, roofs, stairways, doorframes, and other wooden fixtures.
• Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, and flooring.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
• Supervise and train apprentices or helpers when required.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
