Job summary

Bucknell University is seeking a Carpenter I or II in the Facilities Department. The role focuses on rough and finish carpentry to repair, maintain, and renovate university buildings, using a wide range of hand and power tools with adherence to safety protocols.

The position is on-campus, 40 hours/week, with early shift hours and potential evenings/weekends for special events. Lead duties may apply for Carpenter II; background checks and tool ownership required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Carpenter I requires 2 years experience or equivalent training.
• Carpenter II requires 6 years experience leading projects/installations, or 2-year technical degree with 4 years leading projects.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive university vehicles are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rough and finish carpentry to repair and maintain university buildings.
• Read blueprints and interpret schematics; estimate time, materials, and equipment.
• Collaborate with other trades to coordinate project timelines and support university events.
