Job summary

Bucknell University is seeking a Carpenter I or II in the Facilities Department to perform rough and finish carpentry, repair and renovations on university buildings. The role requires strong carpentry skills, tool proficiency and adherence to safety protocols.

The position involves building maintenance, cabinetry and millwork, renovation work, blueprint interpretation, and collaboration with other trades to support university operations and events. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience as a carpenter OR equivalent two-year technical training/certifications in carpentry
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive university vehicles

Responsibilities

• Builds and repairs carpentry structures, cabinets and millwork while following blueprints and safety protocols.
• Performs renovation and new construction tasks, reads blueprints, estimates time and materials.
• Maintains records of work orders, time sheets and materials used; coordinates with other trades and events.
• Cadres with Carpenter II duties including lead responsibilities on projects and scheduling.
