Job summary

Bucknell University is seeking a Carpenter I or II – Flooring Installer to install a variety of flooring surfaces and perform general carpentry to maintain university buildings. This role reports to the Carpenter Supervisor and works on-campus Monday through Friday with some evenings or weekends and possible overtime for events.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of flooring installation experience or 2-year technical training, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of flooring installer experience or equivalent technical training.
• Six years of experience leading flooring installations for Carpenter II.

Responsibilities

• Flooring installation of carpet, tile, vinyl, and related surfaces.
• Perform rough and finish carpentry to repair and maintain university buildings.
• Construct, install, and repair cabinetry, shelving, countertops, and millwork.
• Participate in renovation projects including framing, drywall, doors, and trim.
• Read blueprints/schematics and estimate materials/time for jobs.
• Collaborate with other trades to coordinate project timelines and safety.
