Job summary

Bucknell University seeks a Carpenter I or II to perform rough and finish carpentry, cabinetry, and renovations across campus facilities. You will read blueprints, estimate materials, and coordinate with the team to maintain, repair, and renovate university buildings.

The role emphasizes safety, on-time project delivery, and adherence to campus codes. The position is on campus with a 40-hour work week, Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, with potential overtime for events and campus operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Carpenter I requires 2 years of experience or equivalent training.
• Carpenter II requires 6 years of experience or equivalent vocational degree with leadership.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive university vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform rough and finish carpentry to repair and maintain university buildings.
• Construct, install, and repair cabinetry, shelving, countertops, and millwork.
• Participate in minor renovation projects including framing, drywall, insulation, doors, windows, and trim.
• Read blueprints and schematics to determine project requirements; estimate time, materials, and equipment.
