Job summary

Bucknell University is seeking a Carpenter I or II – Flooring Installer to lead flooring replacements and perform general carpentry to maintain campus facilities. The role reports to the Carpenter Supervisor and requires on-campus work hours, with possible evenings and overtime for events.

The incumbent will install various flooring, repair and construct built-ins, read blueprints, and coordinate with other trades to support project timelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Carpenter I: two years flooring installation experience or equivalent two-year training/certifications.
• Carpenter II: six years flooring installation experience leading projects, or two-year degree plus four years hands-on lead experience.

Responsibilities

• Flooring installation including carpet, carpet tile, VCT, luxury vinyl tile, ceramic tile, sheet goods, stair treads and vinyl base.
• Perform rough and finish carpentry to repair and maintain university buildings.
• Construct, install, and repair cabinetry, shelving, countertops and millwork.
• Assist in minor renovation projects including framing, drywall, doors, windows and trim.
• Read blueprints and interpret schematics to ensure project specs are met.
• Maintain safety and record work orders, time sheets, and material usage.
