Job summary

Qualifications

• Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Previous food service experience preferred, long term care dietary experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook in preparing meals, desserts and snacks for patients/residents.
• Use proper food handling processes, procedures and policies.
• Deliver trays to patients/residents on halls.
• Deliver and serve meals to patients/residents in dining area; food and beverages.
• Prepare between-meal nourishments and serve in accordance with guidelines.
• Offer menu substitutions and record them as required.
• Follow procedures for serving partner meals.
• Communicate with patients/residents/families with warmth and respond to concerns.
