Job summary

TOTE Maritime Alaska in Tacoma, WA, is hiring an Operations Specialist for full-time, on-site work. The role supports the Vehicle and Cargo Management Departments, handling bookings, invoicing, reporting, and customer relations with accuracy and service.

Responsibilities include coordinating hazardous shipments per 49 CFR, managing Bills of Lading, and ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high-quality customer support. Occasional nights may be required.

Qualifications

• Four years’ experience in the transportation industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create and update bookings and Bills of Lading.
• Support customers by tracking cargo and resolving issues.
• Coordinate hazardous shipments per regulations and use 49 CFR.
• Arrange transloads, deliveries and pickups.
• Handle invoicing, documentation, rating and problem resolution.
