Job summary

Right at Home is hiring caregivers to provide in-home care for seniors and disabled adults in North Central Indianapolis and surrounding counties. We offer flexible schedules, immediate openings on all shifts, and paid training.

Caregivers perform personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, and companionship under a plan of care. Dependability is essential; CNA/HHA experience is a plus, and a valid driver’s license with a reliable insured vehicle is recommended.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with clients and family.
• Ability to follow care plans and instructions.
• Experience preferred; CNA or HHA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs personal care activities to assist patients with daily living tasks.
• Assists with bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility and feeding as directed.

Caregiver Essential Functions

• Performs personal care activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living which include (but are not limited to):
• Personal hygiene (assisting to bathroom or in using bedpan, bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair)
• Ambulation
• Dressing
• Grooming
• Assists with feeding
• Engagement activities with client (puzzles, card games, conversation)
• Performs patient‑specific activities that are taught by a nurse. These could include (but are not limited to):
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Meal Preparation in accordance to instruction
• Performing homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms.

Caregiver Qualifications

• Verbal communication and listening skills
• Ability to promote and maintain a safe environment
• Dependability
• Possess a valid driver's license and have use of an insured and reliable automobile
• Communicate effectively with office staff regularly
• Must be willing to follow all company policies and take direction from office staff
